AHUs are small garden of fruit trees that have 16 to 20 plants of fruits such as Ber (desert plum) and Goonda (Local Citrus fruit). We empower families, especially women, to establish small-scale fruit gardens with trees like Ber (desert plum), Goonda (local citrus), pomegranate, and drumstick. These units use:
Gray water recycling for irrigation.
Locally made bio-fertilizers to ensure sustainability.
Benefits:
Nutrition from fresh fruits for families within 2-3 years.
Supplemental income from surplus produce.
Pastureland Development
Our approach combines tree planting, shrub growth, and grass cultivation to:
Conserve soil and improve fertility.
Availability of fodder, forage, grasses, leaves for cattle feeding during the dry season
Support biodiversity, carbon sequestration, and ecological regeneration.
Provide fodder, fuel, and forage year-round.
Silvi pasture systems are very much helpful to sequester significant amounts of carbon (CO2, GHG, Temperatures) in the soil and good amount of biomass of standing trees as well indigenous local grasses.
